Tips for Hosting your Meetup

Meetup can be an incredibly powerful recruiting tool for the campaign and we want to help you prepare to attend and host by providing tools and resources which, along with your personal testimonials and local activities, will inspire people to join our forces.

Keep in mind when preparing for your Meetup that it is best used as a forum to introduce people to the campaign and to motivate them in local grassroots activities.
1 Show up early to prepare the venue, organize your host group and start welcoming current and future supporters.
2 Welcome your attendees, introduce the informal host team and explain why you support General Clark. Start by polling your crowd:
  • How many of you are at a Meetup for the first time?
  • What other political Meetups have you been to?
  • What do you do? (teachers, union, healthcare, public servents)
  • Why are you here?
3 Show the video of General Clark's speech if you can, or at least have it available on a few laptops for people to watch it. He delivers his message best and it is your job to help expose people to it.
4 Amaze and inspire your attendees with your dedication. Be ready to have personal conversations as you attempt to recruit people for roles within the local grassroots efforts. By offering ideas for participation and being open to other ideas, you help strengthen and scale our network of support, locally and nationally.
