For Immediate Release: September 16, 2003 Texas State Legislators Endorse Wesley Clark For President Austin, TX Thirteen Texas State Representatives have endorsed the candidacy of General Wesley Clark for President. These state legislators represent a wide spectrum of Texans, both geographically and demographically. "We have Brown, Black, White, rural, urban and just about everything that is great about Texas represented within these early supporters," said State Representative Richard Raymond, one of Texas' earliest Clark supporters and Texas Delegation Coordinator. "This broad base of support is evidence of General Clarks appeal not just to the party's base, but to a wider spectrum of voters. General Clark is right for Texas, right for the entire country, and will be the next president of the United States." General Wesley Clark is expected to announce his candidacy for the Democratic Nomination for President of the United States later today. Every major metropolitan center in Texas has a Draft Clark 2004 organization in place and has already begun to collect the signatures needed to place him on the primary ballot in Texas. Five announcement parties are scheduled across Texas tonight, September 17. These parties will occur in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock and Houston. Richard Raymond and other elected officials are expected to attend the Austin event this evening at Mother Egan's Irish Pub.
