Date: November 13, 2003 It's High Time We Do More to Find Al Qaeda "I was surprised to read this morning that Senator Kerry doesn't agree with me that Saudi Arabia needs to do more to solve the al Qaeda problem. I'm sure all the Democratic candidates agree that what the Bush Administration is doing now is not working. We should be united in focusing on the President's failure to find bin Laden and destroy al Qaeda. We need to find collaborative solutions. That's what it took in Kosovo, where, as NATO Supreme Allied Commander, I led the alliance's efforts to save 1.5 million lives. I have experience building coalitions and bringing to bear different capabilities from many nations to solve tough problems. I know the Democratic candidates agree that the Bush Administration failed to have adequate forces to cut off and kill the al Qaeda leadership during the Tora Bora campaign. Saudi Arabia is not doing enough. It's high time that the Saudis gave us concrete assistance to solve the bin Laden problem that they were partly responsible for creating." |
