Date: December 4, 2003 Bush Still Has No Plan for Manufacturing Little Rock - Today President Bush decided to lift the steel tariffs he imposed just 20 months ago. "President Bush still has no strategy to help the 2.6 million manufacturing workers who have lost their jobs. We need a real strategy to help our manufacturing communities," Clark said. "That's why I've released a detailed Manufacturing Security Plan to jumpstart the manufacturing sector and keep jobs from being shipped overseas." General Clark's plan will help all manufacturing firms, including the vital steel and auto industries, by providing up to $10,000 in tax credits for each additional full-time employee they hire, ending incentives to ship jobs overseas, and controlling the rising costs of health care coverage. |
