Date: December 6, 2003 General Wesley Clark Receives Endorsement of the Arkansas Education Association Little Rock - The Arkansas Education Association today voted to endorse General Wesley Clark for president of the United States. General Clark met with state education leaders to discuss the issues facing teachers today-and his ideas for tomorrow. AEA Board members emerged from the meeting confident that General Clark is the best candidate to move America's public education system forward. "After hearing General Clark's answers, there was no doubt that our Board was going to recommend him," said AEA President Sid Johnson. "His views on education for America's public school children closely mirror our own. The fact that he is a graduate of Arkansas public schools also influenced our decision. He can only be considered a role model for every public school student in Arkansas." General Clark added: "I'm thrilled to receive this endorsement from the AEA. I'm excited to continue our dialogue and to work together to realize the potential of every American child." He noted that the AEA is known for working hard to elect the candidate it endorses: "I've got a strong team in my corner. They're workhorses in the classroom and they'll be workhorses for our campaign." |
