Date: December 27, 2003 Rep. Dale Kildee and Genesee County Treasurer Dan Kildee Endorse Clark Clark Gets The First Michigan Congressional Delegation Endorsement Flint - Today, Michigan Congressman Dale Kildee endorsed Wes Clark. Rep. Kildee said "We need strong new leadership in Washington, and Wes Clark's record of service and leadership for his country makes him the most qualified Democrat to defeat President Bush." Clark was thrilled to welcome Rep. Kildee aboard. "I've admired Congressman Kildee's career for many years," said Clark. "Dale is a strong advocate for America's students and America's workers. He's always fought for financial assistance for college kids and a fair shake for people in the workplace." "Wes Clark represents the values of the Democratic Party: courage, leadership, service to country, and a selfless desire to put the people's interests above the special interests," Rep. Kildee said. Clark also welcomed aboard Genesee County Treasurer Dan Kildee. "I am proud to have gained the endorsement of someone who has worked so hard for urban America," Clark said. "Dan Kildee's success in revitalizing the Flint area is recognized nationwide as a model of urban renewal." "General Clark not only has the leadership and diplomatic skills required of a President, he has a comprehensive plan for fixing what's not working in America today," Dan Kildee said. "His commitment to intelligent land use and revitalizing our cities are especially important to me." Kildee also is the Chair of 5th Congressional District Democratic Party, which covers all of Genesee and Tuscola counties and part of Saginaw and Bay counties, including Saginaw and Bay City. "These two endorsements underscore the strength of the Clark campaign in Michigan," said Dana Houle the Clark For President Michigan State Director. "Not only does General Clark get the first endorsement from the Michigan Democratic Congressional delegation, but Dan Kildee brings extensive institutional knowledge as the Democratic Chair of a district that consistently has high voter turnout for Democrats." The Michigan Democratic Presidential Caucus is February 7th. Voting by mail and internet begins on January 1st. The Clark For President campaign in Michigan consists of five paid staff and more than two thousand volunteers. |
