Little Rock - Representative Sanford Bishop (D-GA), held a press conference in Atlanta today announcing his endorsement of General Clark's candidacy.

"I believe that General Clark will bring leadership and expertise that we so sorely need," Bishop said in his remarks before Clark supporters.

"Its an honor to receive the endorsement of Congressman Bishop," Wes Clark said. "Sanford Bishop is a champion for the people of southwest Georgia and a true Democrat: the kind of Democrat that fights for the rights of working Americans, who's fiscally responsible, who's strong on defense and veterans' rights. I'm proud to have his endorsement."

Bill Buck, National Press Secretary for the Clark Campaign said, "Sanford Bishop shares the values of General Clark and is an effective, family oriented Southern legislator. His endorsement is one more example of General Clark's strength in the South and across the country."

Congressman Bishop is currently serving his sixth term in the House of Representatives.
