Little Rock - Former Secretary of Commerce and United States Trade Representative Mickey Kantor, who chairs General Wesley Clark's National Steering Committee, announced today that Democratic National Committeewoman Yolanda Caraway has joined the National Steering Committee. "Yolanda brings her extensive political experience and incisive and penetrating mind to our campaign. We are thrilled to have her on board," said Kantor. Caraway has served in several key positions within the Democratic Party: former Deputy Chair of the DNC under Paul Kirk, senior adviser to the late Ron Brown, Vice-Chair of the 2000 DNC Convention Site Selection Committee and, currently, a member of the Standing Committee on Resolutions. In addition, she was chief-of-staff to the National Rainbow Coalition and the Jesse Jackson for President Campaign. "Wes Clark has such an impressive record," said Caraway. "Wes Clark's focus on faith, family, and inclusiveness resonates with Americans of all backgrounds. He and his message are exactly what America needs to recover from the current mess at home and abroad. I'm proud to support Wes Clark in his effort to bring a higher standard of leadership to America." |
