Wes and Gert Clark welcomed the newest member of their family Christmas Day. Their first grandchild, Baby Wes was born at 5:20 on Christmas evening to Wesley Clark, Jr. and his wife, Astrid. He weighed 6 lb. 15 oz. and measured 22 inches long.

"He's beautiful," said the proud father. "He's got a head full of dark hair. Astrid and the baby are doing well."

"This was the Christmas gift of a lifetime," said the proud grandfather, Wes Clark. "We couldn't be happier. We thank all our friends around the country for their prayers and good wishes during Astrid's pregnancy. Gert and I are thrilled and grateful for this healthy little boy."

The Clarks waited outside the delivery room while the baby was born. They called family and friends immediately. It was an emotional experience for Wes Clark, who was serving in Vietnam when his own son was born.
